A stable food supply is important for the Neolithic Age because they will not go starving. If the men go hunting and they do not have a successful hunt they could just go to one of their animals that they raised and do what ever they need to do with the animal that they raised. Also if they can not find any berries, fruits, or vegetables they will not go starving either. They could just pick the food that they have grown and eat them.
